City College of Davao to Accept Over 320 Applicants for SY 2025-2026

The City College of Davao (CCD) is set to open its doors to over 320 applicants for the upcoming School Year 2025-2026, continuing its commitment to providing free quality education to Dabawenyos.

During a recent briefing, CCD Vice President for Administration, Jamaico Magayo, highlighted the college’s recent achievement of receiving the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). This accreditation affirms that the college’s programs meet CHED’s standards, guidelines, and policies, ensuring students receive a recognized and quality education.

Undergraduate Programs Offered

Currently, CCD offers three primary undergraduate programs, which include:

  • Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship (BS ENTREP)
  • Bachelor in Early Childhood Education (BECED)
  • Bachelor in Technical Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTED), with two majors:
    • Computer Programming
    • Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC)

Magayo also mentioned that while the college plans to expand its course offerings in the future, its current focus is to obtain Institutional Recognition (IR) from CHED to further solidify its standing as a premier educational institution in the region.

Application and Admission Process

Applications for the School Year 2025-2026 will be accepted from April 14 to April 23, 2025. The college will conduct a readiness assessment for incoming students on April 26 and 27, which aims to evaluate applicants’ preparedness for college-level studies. This assessment does not have a grade minimum requirement, ensuring accessibility for all potential students. Priority will be given to students from Indigenous People (IP) communities, emphasizing the college’s commitment to inclusivity and community support.

Applicants are required to submit several documents, including:

  • Recent senior high school report cards
  • Alternative Learning System (ALS) certificates for ALS completers
  • Transcripts of records for transferees
  • PSA birth certificates

Growing Faculty and Student Population

CCD currently employs 34 faculty members and plans to hire more teaching personnel in the next semester to support its expanding student population. The college’s efforts to grow both academically and in terms of facilities demonstrate its dedication to accommodating the increasing demand for higher education in Davao.

Stay Updated

For updates on the enrollment process, Magayo encouraged interested applicants to regularly check the official City College of Davao Facebook page for announcements and further details on how to apply.

The City College of Davao remains committed to offering affordable, high-quality education, positioning itself as an institution where Dabawenyos can access opportunities for personal and professional growth in their chosen fields.
