In a continued effort to make quality healthcare accessible to all, SM Foundation partnered with various social good organizations to conduct two successful medical missions in SM City Davao and Asuncion, Davao del Norte on March 12 and March 13, respectively.

A total of 733 Davaoeños benefitted from the free medical services provided at SM City Davao, while 485 residents in Asuncion received essential healthcare at the mission in their area. Services included free medical checkups, medicines, vitamins, blood tests, dental care, chest x-rays, and ECGs.

The medical mission at SM City Davao also featured a bloodletting campaign in collaboration with the DMIRIE Foundation and Philippine Red Cross. This initiative registered 279 blood donors and successfully collected 837 bags of lifesaving blood components, including red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.

The event in Davao City was supported by various local agencies, including SM City Davao, the City Health Office, the DMIRIE Foundation, the Philippine Red Cross, the Bureau of Fire Protection Davao, Camp Panacan Station Hospital, the Philippine Navy, and the Philippine Coast Guard.

Meanwhile, the medical mission in Asuncion, Davao del Norte was made possible through the collaboration of the Municipal Government of Asuncion and Asuncion National High School Batch ‘81 and ’82.

Since the inception of SM Foundation’s Health and Medical Programs, more than 1.2 million Filipinos across the country have benefited from its medical missions, reaffirming the foundation’s commitment to improving the health and well-being of communities nationwide.
