A tragic incident occurred at a mall in Bajada, Davao City, on Monday night, February 17, when a businessman fell from the fifth floor, prompting an immediate response from authorities.
According to the Santa Ana Police Station 1, at around 9:05 PM, a mall watcher identified as Sylvester Pagsibigan Tamalla saw a man standing near the edge of the fifth floor. Moments later, bystanders on the ground floor were alarmed to find the man lying motionless.
The victim was later identified as “Daryl,” a 40-year-old businessman and resident of Trinidad Greenhills, Bugac, Maa, Davao City. Despite the quick response from 911 emergency responders, Daryl was pronounced dead on arrival. His identity was confirmed by his 61-year-old father, Noel.
According to family members, Daryl had left home around 6:30 PM to run an errand. His wife was reportedly in Manila at the time of the incident.
Investigations revealed that the businessman had recently undergone medical treatment at a private hospital, although the details of his condition remain undisclosed. Authorities are awaiting the arrival of his wife to gather further information.
The remains of the victim were brought to Cosmopolitan Funeral Homes as police continue their investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
